Clockwork Lullabye is...

A collaborative fiction community focusing on radical creativity, strong community, and no-limits storytelling. An experiment in transmedia collaboration. An Alternate History, a London that Could Have Been. A community: a welcoming and stimulating playground for creative explorers and adventurers.

It is a work of art, created by many minds, always growing, always changing, always becoming more brave and brilliant. Certainly not least, it is this website: the home for everything created in the Clockabye Universe. It is both inspiration and a home for the inspired and what they are inspired to create.

Clockwork Lullabye - like so many creative inventions - is many things. Most of all, it is what you make it. Here you are. What do you want to create? What stories to you want to tell?

A little history:

Clockabye, as it's affectionately called, has been around in one form or another for almost five years. It had its conception as a play-by-post roleplay, born as a single setting (the Victorious), and growing into the many-tentacled creature it is today. It has amassed an incredible amount of creative momentum, and given birth to a close-knit community of writers, artists, world-builders, roleplayers - creative sorts of every stripe. Together, we've moved past 'roleplay' and into something totally new, something we're still inventing as we go! We call it 'CoFic' - Collaborative Fiction, a philosophy of co-operative storytelling and maybe even a new artform. As the years went by, the artistic inspiration spread to other creative media. Visual art, microfiction, music, comics, even a novella; Clockwork Lullabye is home to all of them. The world Transmedia comes in handy here. We welcome any form of storytelling - anything your mind-adventures produce, there's a home for it here.

Brilliance. Creativity. Collaboration. Adventure. Pushing Limits. Excellence. DOOM. If you long to dive in a dark, hopeless world and fight to create a spark of light… If you hunger to spin a tale full of shadows, secrets, danger and despair… If doom is delicious, and disaster delectable… If you've ever looked out over the city and wondered just what that thick fog is hiding… If you've ever paused near an alleyway, and rushed on, not wanting to think about what might be making that strange sound… If you've ever felt the world shift and change, and never been quite sure if it shifted back…

If there's something in you that longs to explore these mist-wrapped places, to tell these cobwebby stories…Clockwork Lullabye has a place for you.

Note: In the days ahead, Clockabye will be opening up to host all the creativity that it might inspire. Due to this, we're on a temporary pause as far as new staff-generated plots. Please see the Rules and Resources area to find out how to join in.
